Hi, George. Ended up going the Giant path for my wife and I. Modified it with a narrower kevlar road tyre, rear racks and panniers, and Gel comfort seats.
The Giant made more sense because the frame was much more suited to my 100 odd kilo 6'5" frame 🙂 By all accounts, the Fluid form system is remarkably strong.

I'm quite happy to fabricate an indicator system myself (not a worrying task) but if there is something available commerically, then all is good. If I fabricate it, I'll just hook it into the same power supply as the lights.

Excellent choice Andrew, Giant, my second, after Felt. Did you buy from the chap in Maylands? I still don't have the Felt Trevisa, still waiting to see what my friend does with her Giant Perigee...

The "traditional" indicators aren't good, because a bicycle is too narrow (even with panniers). I think the portable hand-worn indicators are better, because they start blinking automatically when you out-streach your arm!
