  1. Living in the northern midwest where trucks are now putting salt on the roads I have moved my road bike inside and I'm using rollers to keep in shape. I also have an older MTB which I took out on the road today.

My question is whether or not using a MTB on occasion on the road will have any positive or negative impact on my efforts to improve my road bike skills/ times. I don't race, just want to get faster.

    thanks in advance

ride, ride, ride that mtb as much as possible!
get on some trails if possible it will make you
stronger, you have more resistance on a mtb
and even more on the trails. some road cyclist
mtb to improve pedaling, lance did.

    Zaskar... thanks...

It sure seems like I have to work a lot harder on the MTB.

Those big fat tires don't roll with a darn.

  4. I always ride the fat [censored] ( MTB) more in the off season. You are still cycling but not worried about interval training and recover times blah blah blah. That and the fact that you get to scream around in the dirt again.....love that second childhood stuff!
