Mounting a GPS

I have a Garmin Legend that came with a bike mount. Very easy to use. Great fun, too! Gary

Garmin has a relatively inexpensive handlebar mount for the GPS V. The GPS V also has turn-by-turn
instructions, in case you don't know how to get where you want to go.

Garmin eTrex Vista with a special mounting that stays on bars. Mount kit came with a back which
locks into the mount. Easily switched with regular back if you don't care for the extra mounting bit
on the back.

Not sure how good an idea mounting to a handlebar is, as the shock transmits pretty directly to the
unit and the mounting back seems a little too loose now for my comfort, feels like it wobbles a bit.
GPS has been acting up a bit lately, but could be the 3+ year old NiMH cells can't muster the
minimum voltage, even if they can deliver current. May just be time for new batteries.

Nice to be able to export tracklogs to topo maps (like DeLorme) to see what your ride looks like in
profile, etc.
