I have spent most of my MTB weekly runs in the peak district in Derbyshire... great fun with reasonable climbs but after a weekend escapade to Tuscany i can vouch for the MTB experiences of the area around Montecatini Terme near Lucca. The hills, mountains and woodlands of the Pistoiese region offers a tremendous variety runs with great views plus the added attraction of passing by the many medieval villages and famous locations of Vinci, Lucca etc and finally dinner in the many local family run restaurants are all part of the experience which made the trip extra special.
