My name is Guillermo Rivera. I am a tour operator from Córdoba, Argentina. I will be organizing a couple of mountain bike tours in South America, particularly Argentina and Chile.
I have been leading nature tours for the last 9 years. I am a biologist, and have a doctorate in Botany. I have specialized in expeditions that had the objective of seeing plants (cactus, bromeliads and orchids) in their habitat or birds. For the last two years I am also offering trips that focus on, active tourism (bicycling, kayaking, trekking), and nature photography.
I personally guide every single tour that I organized. Our tours are all inclusive tours including airport transfer, all hotels, all meals (lunch picnic style, dinners at restaurants, breakfast in hotels), ground transportation and support vehicle, snacks and water during the day. We will not camp, so our tours are open for everyone. Because our vehicle is on standby all the time, participants may choose to stop pedaling at any and our vehicle would be there to pick up.
Our vehicles are Mercedes Benz Sprinter minibus with 19 seats, but we will not take more than 14 people including guides in any tour. The number of participants will be between 6 and 12.
We will be offering a tour to Northwestern Argentina in 2010, but we are adding a trip to Northern Patagonia and Chile in 2011.
Our tour to Northwestern Argentina is 14 days long, starting and ending in Cordoba, Argentina. Its cost is of $ 3100- 3600 dollars (depending on number or participants, and based on double occupancy accommodations). Of course we can customize our tours according to your clients’ needs (e.g. including other activities such as rafting, horseback riding, hiking, etc). This price is offered for travel agencies, but for the next two years, I will be offering directly to clients. This price includes everything (hotels, meals, support, transfers, ground transportation, park entrance fees, etc.) except airfare to/from Cordoba, Argentina.
In most of our days we will pedal between 20 to 40 miles. In many cases slightly downhill or mixed in both paved and dirt roads. In many days, we will have two sessions of pedaling depending on our itinerary.
Our company has 2008- 2009 mountain bikes for rent if the person desires to hire one of our bikes.
If this idea sparks any interest, please let us know. We will be happy to accommodate your requirements.
Best regards,
Guillermo Rivera
