Hey all, i have been riding a bunch on a real old bianchi and feel like its time for something newer. I dont have much of a budget being a broke college student, but i have been trying to decide b/t the Motobecane vent noir vs the Windsor fens. The motobecane comes with shimano 105 rear derailleur and the rest is tiagra 4400. the windsor comes with shimano 105 parts and Ultegra rear deraileur. Both bikes are the same price at $699 with the rest of the parts being the same. If anyone has any info about these bikes or experience or opinion on what would be the best choice i would appreciate it. Thanks ~Luk

I don't think you'll notice a lot of difference riding them. I have the Windsor Kennet and like it very much. Mine has all Ultegra components which are very nice in my opinon. 105 stuff feels very much the same to me. I can't comment on the Tiagra components.

I am fairly new to cycling, and had the same dilemma. After several days of research I went with the Fens. I have had the bike for two weeks and love it. I am sure I made the right decision. It took a while to get the bike set up to my liking, but now I am very happy. Enjoy

In your research did you find that motobecane and Windsor are brands owned by the same company? I had a Windsor in the 70s and it was a great bike, so my bias would have been toward Windsor because of the name. Also, obviously, the components are a step up from the Moto. I had heard somewhere that there was a company that had bought rights to some of the old esteemed names like Motobecane, botecchia, windsor and some others, but that could just be an urban legend. Have fun with the new ride.
