  1. I don't remember what they're called but my trainer calls them "low
    pulley's". You sit up straight with your legs straight out on a machine,
    reach forward to grab handles on a cable and pull the handles toward your
    stomach.

    What could I do at home to do the same thing?

    My son was told that, instead of doing situps on a slant board, he can get
    on that device (again, I don't remember the name of it) where you stand and
    grab two grips while using your arms to let your body hang, then just bring
    your knees up toward you. Is this a good substitute for the sit ups?

    You could fashion something easily using a stretchband of some sort, see
