    Monster Chip Cookies

    Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------
    -------------------------------- 1 cup shortening
    1/2 cup butter -- softened 1 1/3 cups sugar 1 cup packed
    brown sugar 4 eggs 3 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
    lemon juice 3 cups all-purpose flour
    2/2 cup quick-cooking oats 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 1/2
    teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 4 cups semisweet
    chocolate chips 2 cups chopped nuts

    In a mixing bowl, cream shortening, butter and sugars until
    light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time,
    beating well after each addition. Add vanilla and lemon
    juice. Combine dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture and
    mix well. Stir in nuts and chips. Drop by 1/4 cupfuls 3"
    apart onto lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 350: for
    14-16 minutes or until lightly browned and center is set.
    Cool for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks.

    sugar 4 eggs 4 teaspoons vanilla extract 3 cups all-purpose
    flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 4
    cups quick-cooking oats 4 cups crispy rice cereal 2 cups
    flaked coconut 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips 2 cups
    coarsely chopped walnuts

    In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add eggs,
    one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in
    vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and baking soda.
    Gradually add to creamed mixture. Transfer to a larger bowl
    if necessary. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Drop by
    heaping tablespoonfuls 3" apart onto lightly greased baking
    sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Remove to
    wire racks to cool.
