  1. I have a manitou black comp fork with variable 80-100 mm of travel and i was just wondering if it is at all possible to modify this fork to get more travel? if so, will a bike shop do this, or will i have to do it on my own... i have no clue if this is possible, i have just heard that many forks can be modified to give you more travel... can somebody set me straight??

No you can't make it longer. There is a 100/120mm version of the Black comp but its different. It has longer stanction tubes and plunger shafts to make up for the extra length.
