  1. Well! I am back online after nearly two weeks of no internet
connection. Our modem shorted out, and it required a number of visits
from the varied ISP technicians to get it squared away. How totally
nuts it was - first someone to check the outside lines, and they are
forbidden to even enter the house. Then the inside technicians to
check the inside wires and modem. Given the fact our modem was 7 or
more years old, I guess it was time to get it replaced.

I am surprised at how dependent I have become on the internet for
news, entertainment, information, whatever! I sure realized that!

And, during these past two weeks, we have probably just bought a new
house. The final say will be in the next two days. This meant
running around with all the house-buying stuff - money transfers,
paperwork, call here, call there. And this on top of the usual
patterns of life, scheduling technician visits, and whatever.

As a result, I have not been to the gym for two weeks, and have no
idea if I have lost much more. I think I have possibly dropped a
couple of pounds, but will wait until next Monday. A couple of times,
in all this chaos, I had to eat, and had nothing with me. A few poor
choices had to be made, but I did keep in mind the focus on low carb .
    .. .

So, it is nice to be back and reading the posts! This group does help
keep me focused - and not having it around for two weeks made me
    realize that immensely!
