Hello
Just got one of these nice computers. Just curious about setting the
tyre/circumference. The instructions talk about your tyre size, but not
about the position of the sensor on the bike frame. Doesn't this change the
distance travelled if this isn't taken into account?

Nope - counts wheel revolutions not distance travelled.
