Mississippi River Trail???

We're staying near downtown, about a mile from Sun Studios and the Civil
Rights Museum. We will have a car, so traveling to a starting point is not

Can anybody tell me anything about this trail? Is it well-maintained? Are
there interesting stops/sights along the way, say within a 10-15 mile
segment? Restrooms? Restaurants?

Please help! We're going Columbus Day weekend.

along the Mississippi.
