Mini Coolers

Yes, I have one. I've only ever used it off 240V. I used it
continuously for 12 months when I was living in digs. I found that,
when it was new, the fan did stop spinning when the weather was cool
but after a few months the fan seemed to be on all of the time. I did
my best to keep the vents clean. I did live in a warm room (which is
why I bought the cooler) and it did the job of a static 'fridg' very
well.

When I moved back home again, I packed the cooler up and put it away
for a couple of months. However, it wouldn't work next time I wanted
to use it. It turned out that it had a dry joint and a quick
soldering job (thanks Dad) sorted it.

Mine is the type which has a hinged door at the front. I decided that
it would not be suitable for use when camping as I would not want to
leave it to flatten the car battery when I am camped. I manage with
cool bags or food which doesn't require chilling.

...on the subject of mini-coolers.. Maplin have some 27l ones for £30
at the moment which doesn't seem bad value..
