Gary,
We have a Quetzal Peugeot C24, with a child-length frame. It was my
daughter's first recumbent.
It is the same LWB design as the "Mikado LTR", but in cromoly, and the
pedals adjust by sliding on the main tube, rather than the 2 part main tube
I remember the LTR to have.
It's heavy, and the components were cheap. It's a bit complex with many
cables and derailleurs. It is not fast, but it worked reasonably well for
our first MS150 ride.
All that said, my daughter took to it immediately, and was riding it in 3
laps of the cul-de-sac like she'd been riding it for years. It had a very
shallow learning curve.
She did eventually have an incident, and we couldn't get replacement USS
handlebars in the States. I eventually bought substitute bars from Power On
Cycling and had to re-engineer the stem attachment to accept the new bars.
I'd say it was a mixed-bag experience. We do/have owned a BikeE, the
Quetzal, a Rotator Tiger, three Vision R40's and an Evox 120, and there's an
Avatar 2000 frame hung on the wall to complete one day. I don't know that
I'd by another Quetzal. The Evox is also made by them - i bought it because
I wanted a 'bent for my 9 year old son, and chiild recumbents are basically
unavailable.
