  1. Hey folks...
Injured myself to the tune of a couple of weeks off of the bike (neck/back problem). Unfortunately, this was supposed to be the peak of my road season(first few weeks of July). Plan had been to take a week or two off at the end of July/beginning of August and start gearing up again for cyclo-cross season. So now I'm feeling a bit of unwillingness to give up on the road season, especially as I'm in my best form yet. Question is - do I transition now and start base for cross season, or do I jump right back in where I left off.
To a certain point, I don't want to miss a couple of races - eg:Our local championships are near the end of July and have team commitments to attend to. While these weren't supposed to be A races, coming off a good rest, I could possibly turn out some good results in them. Other thought is to back out of these entirely, do a longer base and put a bit more emphasis on the August/September road races, using them as base/build races for cross season.

I know I will definitely be spending a few days more in the gym (upper body/core work) than I have, to try and avoid a similar problem in the future.

Does anyone have any thoughts/experiences to share on coming back after a relatively minor injury? Maybe I'm putting too much thought into it?

Would very much appreciate some advice,
