    in the chemical structure, the Mevalonic acid (closed ring) is the acid form instead the lacton form
    (open ring) from Lovastatin (Simvastatin) the Mevalonic acid is watersoluble (lacton is only oil-
    soluble, act only in Liver , with the known side-effects) in Red Yeast Rice the distribution is 65%
    and may be 20% lacton, in Lovastatin its reverse.
