Assos has women specific bibs that split the defenders rather than heading for the sidelines. They are probably more comfortable but I prefer the traditional look. The down the middle approach gives me the same visual impression as a plastic nose guard on the beach.

I'd always figured most women in longer events didn't use bibs because of the extra hassle to pee. Especially in a race where you might have to go in the ditch real quick. Photo coverage of men's races usually includes at least one shot of a natural stop, never true for the women's races so I don't know if it doesn't happen (fluid management) or just because it isn't photographed (respect). Women's races are generally quite a bit shorter so although it's less of an issue I doubt if it's not an issue at all.
