Apples to watermelons. My MXL is wonderful.YMMV

  3. I've been looking at buying a ti road frame for about a year. One of the things I really like about them is durability -- including durability of looks. Earlier I almost bought a sweet Pinarello LS from a racer, but was turned-off by the fact that it was only one-year old and had significant wear at points where cables and the water bottle had rubbed the frame. After more research, it appears that virtually all Italian makers have prolems with paint -- allegedly due to environmental regulations more strict than ours. Once you realize this, try finding a Master X-lite that's not at least half painted. If you could get one unpainted -- like the Merlin -- that would be cool. I just never saw one. That's what I know.

    Good luck!-Nick
