  1. hi
i'm new to road-cycling, and was thinking about buying a merida 901 (2003 model) for commuting and to develop as a hobby.
i live in a very hily area with iffy road suface.
does anyone here have experience with, or know of this bike? is merida a good manufacturer?
also, i was given a bike to test at home which is a 54 size (i need 58-60), and the seat was made higher, but the handlebars were left at the normal hight. i felt sore on the back of my neckwhilst riding. is this to do with the hight differences, or because i'm new to road-riding, or is it just something that u learn to live with (something i'm not too keen to do)
    thanx
    andy😕

  2. I don't know about the specific model you're referring to, but Merida is the world's largest manufacturer of bicycles.

They are based in Taiwan and produce all of Specialized's frames (amongst others), and in fact they own about 25% of Specialized. So I don't think you'll have any quality problems with the frame!
