I just got memory map v5.
It's excellent. I'm finding it really useful.
I just uploaded the Ullswater walk and included the maps and profile from
Memory Map in it. I also quite like the fly-through. Although gimmicky, it
does help to jog the memory.

it's much easier that using the measuring wheel and plotting the
ascents/descents and route by hand - which I have done in my other walks.
Just need a GPS now..............

Memory Map software for printing, planning routes etc
Is it an unnecessary toy or does it add anything.
Just general opinions would be fine.
I'm looking at the Landranger and Explorer versions.
Don't have a GPS
