  1. I am planning a 2 or 3 day unsupported ride from Melb to Canberra in a few weeks time.

    Distance is 650km.

If 3 days, stops would be at Wangaratta, and Tarcutta pubs. If 2 days, stop at an Albury pub (very modest tarrifs!).

2 days is optimistic for me, especially given 3 or 4 serious hills in NSW. But, I will probably set off with a 2 day goal, and see how it goes. Strong cross winds in NSW could also be a factor.

Intend to bus back to Melb, although, if I am still alive, I would contemplate a return ride!

    Anyone interested in joining me?

Your not planning on ridng just along the Highway / freeway are you?
There's lots of nicer routes than that if you wanted to spend an extra day or so.

Sounds terrible if you intend going along the Hume, I would suggest a route through the mountains.
Some of us here in Canberra have ridden Canberra > Bright for the Audax Alpine
