  1. I was on The Gardiner's creek path yesterday and noticed that the barriers on the Solway St footbridge have been pushed aside and people are getting through.

Does anyone know if this will last?

  2. 17 July 06, 8:09pm. I just got back from work, riding from Dandenong to the city through The Gardiner's Creek path, there were about 3 other riders riding through the path and the path seems to be ok. I am not sure if its officially open but the path itself is safe. I guess I am one of those ppl getting through.:o "feeling pretty guilty"

  3. Bridge is due to be rebuilt.
severe rains/sotrms this year washed much of the north ban kunder the bridge away, making it a candidate for slidin into the creek!

NFI if it's safe or not.

Work on the replacement (approx 10m to east and easier gradient)
is due to start in approx 4 weeks time. To be completed by end of year

  4. It didn't look like an "official" reopening to me.

(In the same sense that having the orange mesh near the Hawthorn velodrome peeled back last week wasn't an "official" reopening of the path there.)
