I was just going over some of my old training sessions, and I found some interesting ones.
I did a study for a university when I was a little younger, my MAX HR was tested as 195 using a ramp test on a kingcycle.
The actual study was for a sports drink and how temperature affected its performance at different solution strengths... or something like that.
Anyway, we had to do 3 or 4 sessions for 1 hour @ Max Pace in a heat chamber.
I rode one of the sessions in 30'C heat so it was pretty warm.
Now here is the interesting bit:
I rode this TT @ about 185bpm to start with but by the end my HR was > 200, I rode the last 5 minutes @ 206avarage which is 11 over my max!
Interesting that cardiac drift seemed to allow me to exceed my maximum
Any of the guys here know why this is?
Anyway... I can post the file at some point.
