  1. My Orbea road bike came with Mavic CXP22 rims - 32 spokes. The tyres are
Mitchelin Dynamic which I know are an entry level tyre. Would I be right in
assuming that this is regarded as a 'training' wheel. In other words solid
and dependable (I hope!). If the answer be yes, what would be a reasonable
wheel to buy to experience a 'race' wheel (without breaking the bank). By
the way I'm using Campagnola Veloce with Daytona hubs.

I don't see references to this wheel much on the newsgroup - is it too entry
    level to be taken seriously?

I'd like to try a wheel that is regarded as a race wheel to see if I notice
much difference from what I'm using now. I've been thinking on this a bit
recently (don't know why it's just 'there'!) - when I was a teenager I had
the obligatory Malvern Star and must have ridden thousands and thousands of
k's without ever thinking of the wheels (or any other part of the bike for
that matter). They must have been cheap but virtually bullet proof to put up
with the abuse I gave them.

I can't help but wonder if I would really notice if the wheel was 'faster' -
with whatever that entails, but I'd like to try just out of sheer curiosity.

I ride for enjoyment, fitness, but I love it. Suffering a bad back for the
past couple of weeks has kept me off the road and I'm hanging out for a ride
like a junkie. Maybe that's why my mind has been more active than my legs
    :0) .
