I can only add that I have one acquaintance who had a pair of the rims
that you describe. They *did* crack around the eyelets. YMMV.

They were bladed spokes and made an irregular "plinking" noise. I
*assume* there was some issue with the spoke tension being set unevenly
in the factory and that the nipples were constantly reseating.

I have never built a set of wheels, so please don't confuse me with an
expert.

Mine are about eight years old with about 30,000 miles. Touched up the true
once. Still running smooth on the original untouched bearings. Riden in lots
of rain. Broke one spoke about three years ago. The shop just used a
standard bladed spoke with the end straightened out. Looks the same. Must be
ok caus thats about 8,000 miles ago. Maybe I lucked out on the rims.

I used a pair for a season. It was quite a while ago. Maybe 1998 or 1999.
They haven't made those in quite a long time.

Mine cracked around the eyelets. Mavic replaced the rim, but it wasn't a
warranty repair and it cost quite a bit.

Later, these wheels were sold with a PSI restriction of 110 psi. I had been
running mine with 120 to 130 psi. I bought mine from an LBS who told me
nothing about a psi restriction.

I sold them to a friend who uses them for training wheels now.

Nice hubs, though.

No probs whatsoever

Lots of [censored] from experts how they explode out from under you on fast
decents, fall apart ~10K miles, rider weight limit <160#, etc...
