Hello, I have come to want to buy this fork as an all round cheap fork, largely for xc. I have posted something similar to this elsewhere, but this area appears to be the most read!!
Please could people give their opinions on this fork, and say if it is a worthwile investment for riding places like Afan in Wales? Also, as I'm new to the buying of forks, could you also say if it would last for a while (a few years??😕 ) as I'm a student with not too much cash to flash😄 😄 ??

The Marzocchi EXR Comp is an elastomer sprung OEM only fork made in Taiwan to Marzocchi's specs.
As such it's fine, though not particularly spectacular; a bit heavy but fairly strong.
They're definitely not the same quality as Marzocchi's other forks and are usually supplied as original equipment on bikes costing around UKP400. Don't pay too much if you're buying as a component as it won't really be supported by Marzocchi; I've seen EXR comps for around UKP 70.
Also, check whether you're being offered the EXR Pro, this is an air-sprung, OEM fork using the same design as the old Marzocchi Z5, a completely different beast from the Comp version and much, much better. These you can usually find for around UKP90 or 100.
Best of all would be to save up another UKP 50 to 75 and get the MXC.
Thanks. I looked at the MXC comp and it looks alright. Are Marzocchi particularly good forks? or should I look towards others like the RS Judy XC or Pilot?
Infact, anyone know any great cheap forks for xc and a bit of jumping?
