  1. I have a project in Martinsville next month and was looking for local knowledge of any road bike
routes for the area. I can plan some routes from maps but I wouldn't know roads to avoid this way.
Has anyone done any riding in the area? Lanny

I would suggest, you go out and checkout your routes, by car if you can. I don't live in
Martinsville, but I have been there quite a few times, and the response you have gotten has been
poor.Count on variable weather, leaning towards Cold. Martinsville is a dying manufacturing
town, in southwestern Virginia, one big industry that survives is NASCAR, so watch out. That
being said, if you carefuly pick your rides, you'll love it, there are mountains, vallies and
river roads with beautiful country everywere. Sorry, I couldnot be more helpful, Len

Well, Martinsville is not that far from the Blue Ridge Parkway, one of the best cycling roads in
    the world...

November is getting into winter, but certainly not like New England winter or Chicago winter. Expect
temps in the 40s-50s F during the day.
