  1. It appears that Mark Thorson is God. That's right. How do I come to
that conclusion? Because he feels he has the right to post people's
personal information in a newsgroup, simply because someone has a
difference of opinion from him. His word is the only word. Mark is the
    Almighty.

Here's the deal. Last week I hired someone to do some marketing for my
new holistic web store. Apparently, he a bit aggressive by posting
some messages in a few newsgroups. Nothing heavy, just mentioning
coconut oil and green tea extract, for those who may be interested.

But God (I mean Mark) was unhappy because he doesn't like coconut oil.
So he decided to post my personal information, gleaned from the WHOIS
from Network Solutions. That's low, even for a Republican, like you
    know who.

My deal is that I've been running an eZine (www.NowAgePress.com) for a
few years that offers interviews and commentary about health,
lifestyle and culture, from a holistic perspective. There's no cost
for any of this info. But we decided to add products
(www.nowagevillage.com) to offset the costs of operations. Nothing
illegal or immoral, except to Mark, I mean, God.

I have also noticed other products mentioned in this group, with no
protests from Mark. I resent his behavior and expect an apology. Oh
wait, if God is love, and love means never having to say you're sorry,
I don't expect anything from Mark.

I've protested lots of other spam, but not all of them.
I'm not under any obligation to protest every single one.
But I will protest wrong information that may harm
people, such as the [censored] you posted to sell your
    loathesome oil.

Mark, looks like you made my point for me. You disagree with my point
of view, so you protest. I share plenty of information with folks
without a mention of where they can get it. The coconut oil is hard to
find, so I mention it. No big harm done. Do you really believe people
    need you to protect them?

Why do you continue to fight for your imagined right to post commercial
messages in non-commercial groups? There are specific groups where you can
post you advertisements for your coconut oil and you'll hear no complaining
about your spamming. There are other ways of making sure the public gets to
know where one can find your particular coconut oil. Make a site, make sure
Google knows about it and [censored]: when people type in coconut oil your site
will be listed. Just don't advertise and then we can all concentrate on the
merits of coconut oil, green tea or fudge therapy.

He was spamming. If you hire someone you are responsible for
their actions. And if your hired spammer annoys people, you can
expect to get hit by the return fire.

That is publically available information. "Personal" would be
your credit card number, shoe size, license plate number and
penis length. And it is hardly "gleaned". They hand it over in a
    single chunk.

Keep reading. He gets most of the spammers.
