A local bike shop told me they don't sell Marin bicycles because of problems getting them serviced or somesuch. Yet, my local outdoor store has them on sale.
How can I evaluate claims of warranty issues with a bike maker? If the product were a computer, I'd know which magazine PC World has a yearly roundup of users' experiences. If the company were an online retailer, I'd know the website resellerratings.com to go to for consumer reviews...
But for bike manufacturers, where is there a site for surveys, polls, etc of consumer problems?

This is off-topic for this group.

Try news:rec.bicycles.misc for this, or even news:rec.bicycles.tech where the techies hang out although it would be slightly off-topic for them as well.
