Marin Alipine Trial

I bought one back in January. The only problems I've had was a squeaky rear
shock which was fixed when the LBS serviced it and now the same rear shock
loses air over time (drops from 260 to 140psi in a week), it's been back
once and they changed the valve but will be going back again, probably next
week, for a further check-up and, hopefully, a replacement shock. I had a
few issues with shifting but that was put right on the first service and has
been spot-on ever since.

Took a while for the forks to bed in but then that's normal I guess. I leave
the rear shock on max travel irrespective of the terrain and it works for
me, YMMV.

Overall, I love riding it and wish I could ride it more often. Just plucking
up courage to change the pedals and go clipless...maybe this weekend..

Thanks for the info, hopefully the shock will be o.k. for me as I am only
running it at 140 Psi.

Just managed to get out on it for the first time last night (proper off road
anyway) I'm really impressed and the shocks aren't even bedded in yet.

Unfortunately I have to run it at 260 ish because of my weight but Marin
OK'd that before I bought it so technically it should be OK.

Too bloody hot for me this weekend and we're busy anyway so no clipless
tests, might be able get out tonight when it cools down a bit though. We're
lucky enough to have some fields & woods behind the back garden with about a
2 mile circular track so we'll (the wife also rides) do 3 or 4 circuits. I
haven't fitted my lights to the Marin yet so we'll have to come in when it's
too dark to see.
