  1. The bike a bought recently came with Manitou Skareb Comp forks which are too soft for me. Since I do a reasonable amount on road I wish my forks had a lockout feature. I understand that you can change the fork internals for a stiffer set-up, but does any one know if you can change it for a stiffer set-up with lockout? I asked Manitou (Answer products) but they don't seem bothered to reply.

  2. My bike also came with Skareb Comp. Mine failed within the first week. Answer was very responsive for me...I dealt with Scott at Ext. 104 (see answer site for #). I traded up to a Black Elite RTWD. At the factory, Scott had the springs changed for the stiffest Manitou offers. The shock does not have a lockout (I ride road a lot too), but the travel is adjustable, and really serves me well on the road and off. Talk to Answer, and they will help you solve your problem.
