I recently bought a bike that came with Manitou Answer shocks, I am new to shock repair and have no idea how to tell if their gas, oil or air, what i do know is they seem to be seized or stuck in hard position. I attempted to figure out what type of shock they are by removing the adjusting screw on the top, when i did, i found that the adjusting screw is attached to a rod (1\4 inch) that goes all the way to the bottom of the shock through a large amount, of what i would call washers. My question is what kind of shock is this and how do i go about bringing her back to life. (without having a professional do it.) Any help will be appreciated seeing as i know nothing about this topic. Thank you -ATX970-
