  1. Hi

I have the Magura Julie 2004 disc brakes on my MTB. They are
quite new, have used them approx. 2 weeks. I have some drag
in both front and rear wheel. When i look through the brake,
i can see that the calipers aren't completely centered. The
right brake-pad almost touches the disc, while there is a
nice gap between the left pad and the disc. So i have to re-
shim the brake, i guess. But before doing this, do you guys
have any suggestion what else could be causing this drag?

I have thought about taking off the wheel and push back the
pads, maybe one of the pistons are "sticky"? Also i have
been suggested to take a very thin piece of metal (0,2-0,4
mm) and push this piece of metal in between the dragging pad
and the disc, and then BRAKE. Then release the brake and
take out the thin piece of metal, and then the brakes should
    have re-adjusted itself???

Could this be the way to go, or do you think that re
shimming the whole thing is the only way to go???

The rear didn't drag until a couple of days ago, when i had
the rear wheel off because of a puncture. Ass i was putting
back the wheel, the disc wasn't placed properly back into
the brake, and i think it might have hit one of the brake-
pads causing it to be pushed out--> drag.

So my theory is that taking off the wheels and then
pushing back the pads with a non-sharp plastic "thingy"
    should do the job.

    ???

But i'm quite the newbie at this MTB, so i need some
suggestions. and PLEASE please in easy-to-understand english
    :-))) Thanx a million!

    Sincerely Anders

Although I don't know a lot about Magura's, in order to
push out the pistons in most systems, you need to open
the system, which usually means removing the cover from
    the resevoir.

Please see my posts under another disc brake heading since
this is a common and frustrating problem with discs.

Anybody else with more knowledge about Maguras may feel free
    to correct my initial statement.

Anybody with experience with Juicy Sevens as they sound like
they have taken setup to the next level?

    Neil
