By recent discussion on the list, the CG course will be closed off this week.

  3. I went for a ride out there yesterday.
But I would recommend parking over at the Lysterfield lake & riding over the dam wall through the single track to the Comm Games course (Follow singed blue '6' & '7' tracks but be prepared to get lost a little bit).

Apart from the Rock Garden the Comm Games course isn't too technical, it'll be all down to fitness & heart I reckon, the riders who can power up those longer climbs out in the open field area.
Lots of v fast going for MTB in places, I was bouncing about with an indicated 43kms/hr just before the salome 'bermed' corners bit.

Having the start/finish almost to the top of a hill means that you're climbing up to the finish & there is some descending just after it, which is different from the general approch to MTB courses where it's encouraged to have a bulk of the climbs in the first half & come home with the descents (to make the riders feel good about the course).

I don't like the crushed rock surface on the Comms Games course, makes you feel like you're riding aorund on walking paths in someones backyard.

After a few laps it'll be worth going out exploring all the other singletracks in the area as thats where the fun is I reckon.
