LX rapidfire shifters

Do you mean the barrel adjuster on the cable? AFAIK there's no other
adjustment bolt on the shifter. If the barrel adjuster threads are
stripped, you may be able to add another barrel adjuster to one of the
cable stops.

If you have the original push-push Rapidfire shifters, they were junk
anyway. Replace them with the push-pull Rapidfire Plus, or
something else.

I'd JB Weld it in place if it was just on a commuter, if it was a bike
that saw actual dirt, yeah, I'd replace it.
