Luxeon Star LEDs and generators?

Has anyone out there tried to power a Luxeon Star 5 watt LED off a generator? From what I've seen online, they give reasonable light at half power (4.5v, 0.56 amp) which should be within the capabilites of a rectified generator. It sure would make a bulletproof lighting system.
