I'm presuming that you don't know this, but lubrication (which, where, how much) is discussed to death on newsgroups and forums like this. Have you tried using the "Search" feature first?

Washing is much more important than lubing. Wash it every time you get it dirty. Lube it after it drys and wipe off the lube so that it doesn't attract dust.
