Petro Hizalev (Webcor/Alto Velo) launched an impressive attack
as the lead group approached Redwood Gulch, leaving other
riders looking at each other, knowing there was absolutely
no way to follow. He held on for an impressive win in 30:54,
and moving into #1 in the men's standings.
Among the respectable turnout of 7 women, Cheryl Hennessy
(team: Velo Bella) was fastest on the day, followed by Stephanie
Gruszunski and Kelly Kasik.
Impressively, Western Wheelers is leading the team standings. The
touring club is showing the racing clubs how it's done, it seems.
Christine Holms leads the "most improved rider" standings, while Adam
Tow has taken the lead endurance standings, having done all four climbs
so far in the series.
Next up: Bohlman-On Orbit-Bohlman. This is a steep one, folks...
