  1. On a max heart rate test on the trainer, my partner claps out at 162bpm. This is down from a previous test where she got to 179bpm. Her resting heart rate has also fallen to 50bpm

Her training is not as intense, mainly longer slower sessions, but not racing as much. Is this a good sign, or bad?😕

I'm not expert, but I'm going to say that it depends on her power output at that max HR. If she's cranking out more power (and can do so for just as long as in previous tests), despite the lower HR, then I'd think that's good.

I don't suppose there were 17 years between tests... ;-)

  3. Maybe she didn't actually max out on the second test?

  4. Thanks for your insight. I think she'll have to get back on the trainer one day when she is a bit fresher, and crank it up again.
