  1. Hi, hoping somene here can help.

I'm interested in getting a relatively low cost road bike to use for cross training for my main sport (in-line skating). Since i need to upgrade my skates soon, my budget for a bike is somewhat limited. I guess my question is what's the absolute lowest (cost wise) one can go in terms of getting a non POS bike for this purpose.

    Thanks in advance,
    Lyle

  2. Hi Lyle,

Which country/currency would you be buying in?

Another important question to consider; when you end up doing the cross-training riding, where would that be? On roads? Bike paths? Dirt roads? Forest trails? A mixture?

Ah, sorry, forgot that I should have included more details.

    US, American $$$

Road cycling only in the hot city of Austin, Tx.

I used to own an old Trek 660 (I think that's what it was) got rid of it when I thought I wouldn't be doing any more endurance stuff. Wish I'd kept it but ah well (frame was a little kinked anyhow).

    Thanks,
    Lyle
