Lost U-lock in Melbourne

I use a Kryptonite LS D-lock. $89 at MBC Prahran for the
long one. I wouldn't touch the cheapies.

picked a U-lock in central Melbourne, or if they can suggest
a reasonably-priced replacement, I'd be very glad to hear
from them.

Did you look in the nearby drains?
I know the intersection quite well and there cant be that many places it could have gone there, without human intervention!

What colour is/was it? Was it intact?

Black, yes intact (and locked) - with some major scarring
due to the aforementioned attempted theft, but otherwise in
perfect order. Had a fairly good root around, including
through all the leaves in the gutter but no joy. I'd
imagine that if a car had hit it at full whack it could
have done some nice damage, so someone probably picked it
up fairly quickly.

ISTR, what I liked about it over the Kryptonites I tried at
the time, was that you didn't need the key in the lock to
close the shackle, you just push and it snaps into place.
