Hi there, i'm gonna ride the los lan cymru route in july 2005. Wich way can i take best: north-south or south-north?
Which direction blows the wind most of the time and is the route in both direction signed?
If i begin in the south part of wales can i depart best from cardiff or chepstow?
Other great tips of the route are also welcome,
Roger

Get the national cycle route maps, navigation on this is tough. I did 3 days of it in September last, with 5 others. It is hilly as for wind we got plenty it was Northerly when we were there. Look up the maps, I ordered them from Sustrans, bring a compass and enjoy. Make sure you are a reasonably experienced cyclist and tourer. This is not something I would recommend for the first time out cyclist.

Brian, or anyone else who can help...I am planning a relatively long touring trip from Alicante to Amsterdam for charity in the summer. I was planning to do a practive trip in Wales, along the route from Shrewsbury to Pembrokeshire. Are the Sustrans map routes on flat roads for touring/racing bikes, or are they better suited to mountain-biking? Just in case I buy the wrong set of maps!
