  1. Help!! I'm going crazy trying to figure out what to do. Not to mention it's annoying as hell when I ride.

The front hub on my 2007 allez elite the "dust cap" comes loose a few miles into my ride and rattles around. If I take the wheel off and jiggle the skewer back and forth a few times the dust cap tightens up, then I put the wheel back on and keep riding. Only for it to come loose again a few miles further. What should I do? I haven't gone to my LBS yet because I figured it would be something incredibly simple. I have also searched through this forum plus a few others but to no avail.

    Thanks

  2. the dust cap will be a frition fit on either the cone or the hub body.

If the hub body, remove the wheel and tap it in with a socket and small hammer, if still loose, use a little locktite on the contact surface.

If on the cone, remove the cone, tap the dust cap into place, again locktite may be needed. 😉

  3. I agree qith the above, it is a friction fit. You may need a new dust cap.
It should be an inexpensive fix.

In the interim, take it off and put it somewhere safe until you can get to the LBS.

It will bug you a lot less that way.
