    I am teaching a unicycle class at a local church and the class starts
    next week. I am hoping the class will be the start of a core group for
    a club. It looks like a local reporter will be taking the class and I
    think he plans on writing an article about the experience. Some more
    good PR for the area. I'm the one who was in the paper last week. See

    This weekend I will be riding in a local parade with 4 other riders.
    Just thsi evening, on a whim, I called the festival/parade organizers
    and asked for a space to advertise for the class and promote unicycling
    and a potential uni club in the area. I got a space for free! Looks
    like I've got some good momentum here for some significant unicycle
    growth in the area.

    I already have a flyer made up for the class, but am looking for a few
    pieces of literature on uni that I can print and lay out on the info
    table. I don't have much time to do this and thought I'd check to see
    if anyone already had something like this for me to use.

    I don't have electricity at this spot so I can't show any videos, which
    is a bummer. But since the spot is for free, I can't complain.

    If you have anything made up already and I can use it, let me know.

    Hey Bill, that's great that you have /created/ this opportunity to
    start a unicycle class/club.

    Of course you can always print photos from the web but it should not
    only be of difficult skills or you might shy away beginners. So, maybe
    you can use the 10 page "Learning to unicycle" document that Andrew
    Carter and I wrote. You can download it for free from
    <http://www.xs4all.nl/~klaasbil/uni_beginners.htm> (linked near the
    bottom of the page) and print as many copies as you need.

    Yeah dont let them know more about the advanced tricks of unicycling
    till they are ready. When I learned it was just to ride then it went to
    hopping, idling, seat out hopping, one foot, ext.. If I knew all there
    was about unicycling I would have gone and tryed tricks that were to
    advanced and just gave up.

    I want to show them enough to show the variety of riding styles and
    possibilities. In some ways, you need to be careful about showing too
    much at once, because it can seem overwhelming. BUT, how many of you
    started riding after seeing photos or videos of phenomenal riding by a
    top rider?

    Teaching people to ride is a lot different than educating them and
    inspiring them to start.

    Weather this weekend is supposed to sunny fall weather. Turnout at the
    festival should be strong and I'll have plenty of people to talk to at
    the booth.
