  1. I developed a kidney stone recently and let me tell you it
    really sucks.

Part of the prevention program is drinking water. The
urologist tells me that I should dring one gallon a day!
That's 128 ounces, or eight of those 16-oz sports
bottles. Yow. How I am supposed to do this while at the
office all day I don't know. It's different if you are
    outdoors and active.

I have heard there are drawbacks to excessive water
consumption. Loss of potassium and electrolytes for
example. Can anyone provide me to some helpful articles on
    the subject?

    A.

If you flush potassium, you could put it back in with
Potassium Citrate, which may get rid of some types of kidney
stone. Do you know what type yours is?

Ask to have your cube moved near the rest room. Of course,
stop drinking about 2 hours before your commute home if it
is a long one. And that 128 oz includes water and stuff you
    drink at home.

Then you can pee in the bushes. The extra fluid helps keep
your stools soft, too. But if you are active, you need to
drink more water than just the 128 oz, to make up for what
you sweat out. It's easy to tell: If you are not peeing as
much as you are at the office, you aren't drinking enough.

Drink orange juice and eat bananas.
