I am a 57 year old male. Have been riding a Specialized hybrid on the road for a few years. Ride about 15 miles a day 5 days per week. Want to try a road bike. Ride for exercise, stress relief, and fun. Ride alone mostly. Looking at a 2012 Giant Defy Composite 1. Cost $2400. Any advise?

There are few bad bikes out there. Get a test ride on the Defy and see what you think.

The amount of money you're willing to spend tells me you won't get a bad bike. If you have a LBS set it up for you properly, and you find a saddle that fits you well and is comfortable, that Giant should be great. Good luck! (Hoping I get my bride to let me come off the wallet with that same amount next spring!)

Specialized makes a great carbon bike with Zertz inserts, ask the LBS where you got your last Specialized from about that. Most people feel they ride more comfortable then CF without the inserts. But always test ride first for at least 8 miles before you buy any bike.
