Actually I'm ridding a 2002 Trek 4300. As I started ridding more often (2 or 3 times a week) and better, mostly offroad, I think it is time to upgrade to a better bicycle.
So far a have seen the 2003 Trek 6700, and it looks good. Deore and Deore LX components and nice a "super light" aluminum frame. This one goes for $699 at a local dealer store here in Houston, TX (Bike Barn).
Do someone has any experience with this bike, or what about any other similar price bike that you might recomend?
I'm in the same boat. I've done a lot of research and will buy a 2004 Cannondale Gemini next month, but I found this along the way: http://www.ibexbikes.com/Bikes/2003/bikes_03ApogeeLX.html Not a bad full suspension ride for the price.
