I am looking around the bike shops every now and then. I like the kona and the cannondale but can't decide.
I heard that a 28 lb bike is ideal with a shaft drive. Its about 3900 dollars. Good price? good bike?

what is a shaft drive ? 3900 dollars buys an excellent bike, closer to higher end or top of the line than it is to medium quality or average value bikes,

Dynamic Cycle Company manufactures shaft-drive bicycles. Mostly recreational/commuter bikes, but they do have an 8-speed "road" bike that weighs in around 20lbs. Prices about half what you quoted.
Used to be located in Holliston, MA, but I think they relocated to RI.
