  1. I just bought a pair of Shimano SH-R214 shoes with the carbon soles on eBay. I use LOOK PP396 pedals. Everything I've read about this shoe said it had LOOK pattern cleat holes. But on closer inspection, there's no LOOK pattern holes to mount the cleats. There is an opening where the LOOK mounting holes should be but it's not threaded. See attached photo.

What's going on here? Does this mean I should start thinking about new pedals?

How about in interchangable threaded plate to replace the one that is in the shoe and you did not get?

  3. G'day Tech 72,

as Boudreaux suggests, they shoulda come with an adaptor plate. Shimano shoes will fit about half a dozen different pedals provide you get the appropriate adaptor. Go back to the bike shop & ask for one for your Look set up,

    cheers,

    Hitchy
