So has anyone used some cleats for your Look pedals that weren't made by Look. VP has some that look alright.

Yup! I currently have a set of authentic Look cleats on on pair of shoes. And a set of Wellgo cleats on another. Only noticeable difference is the Wellgo's seem to need a little break in period before functioning smoothly. IMO....Look's double pricing isn't worth it.
